Wiki in schools
Resources for teachers and students

Free classroom resources for teaching digital literacy, critical thinking and knowledge equity
Bring the world of Wikipedia into your classroom with Wiki in Schools, a suite of free, ready-to-use resources designed by Wikimedia UK to support teachers and empower students.
Whether you’re exploring misinformation, understanding how knowledge is created, or guiding students to become confident digital contributors, these materials provide practical, engaging ways to connect learning to the real world.
Why Wiki in schools?
Wikipedia is one of the most widely used sources of information in the world, yet few people understand how it works, who creates it, or whose knowledge is missing.
These resources help students to:
- Think critically about information they encounter online
- Understand bias, representation, and knowledge gaps
- Build digital and media literacy skills
- Gain confidence in evaluating and contributing to knowledge
For teachers, they offer structured, curriculum-aligned content that can be easily adapted for different classroom settings.
Each topic includes two tailored PDFs: one for students and one for teachers, with guidance, activities, and discussion prompts. **Please note that these resources are work in progress and will be regularly updated as the Wiki in schools programme develops.
