2013 Activity Plan/GLAM Scotland
- Description
We have strong hopes of continuing this work despite delays to implementation in 2012-13. There have been serious delays owing to re-organisations in the Scottish GLAM sector and people changing responsibilities - the planned year long Wikimedian in Residence has not been established.
We will fund a position to work with the Scottish cultural sector to develop links with the Wikipedian community in Scotland and its projects. This has been realised by placing a WiR at the National Library of Scotland - the project plan of this residency can be found here.
- Amount
£21,000
- Budget responsibility
Chief Executive
- Timetable for activities
November 2012 - Spring 2013: basing on the Wikimedian in Residence recruitment grant, assessing if any of the institutions are based in Scotland.
July 2013 - Spring 2014: residency at the National Library of Scotland, tie in with further community events as emerging.
- Success Criteria
- WiR appointed and active with a Scottish host.
- That a clear programme of activities is established and delivered in consultation with their hosts, reaching out to the wider Wikimedia community in Scotland.
- WIR reports regularly about their activities.
- Risks
- Delays continue and post is not created.
- WIR, if placed, is unable to bridge their host community, the Wikimedia UK community and the general population.
