Summary

Description
English: Union Rooms, Westgate Road. The former Union Club, a listed Victorian building, lay empty and derelict for over 20 years. It was designed in a French chateau style in 1877 by architect, M. P. Manning. The J D Wetherspoons chain restored the 15 ft stained glass window, huge glass dome and grand staircase with grant assistance from The Grainger Town Project. It was re-opened as The Union Rooms in 1999 http://www.newcastle.gov.uk/gttv/fantastic2.htm 730358 can be seen on the left with 1115867 behind.
