Microgrants/Paralympics

Overview

Marek.69 has knowledge of the Olympics, and can recognise the key athletes, thanks to his volunteer work at the olympics. Throughout the paralympics, he is in a good position to take photographs of the athletes, with their consent and understanding that the photos will be uploaded to Wikipedia, outside of the Olympic venues and during his own time. In order to do this, he needs some support for his presence in London during the paralympics.

Budget

• Per diem for 12 days, at £20/day, total of £240.
• Provision of a decent camera (currently, he is using a spare WMUK mobile phone camera, but a decent compact camera would be much better.)

Timeline

• Throughout the paralympics; photos will be uploaded after the events.

Expected outcomes

• Photos of Olympic competitors will be uploaded under a free license to Wikimedia Commons, and added to relevant Wikipedia articles.

Who I am

• Marek is a long-time Wikimedia UK volunteer, well known to many.
