Talk:Geological Society workshop
I can haz come? Can't promise to be of any use whatsoever. To be fair I can't promise I'll come. But it'd be nice to have the option. So...can I? :) Panyd (talk) 21:29, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Follow-up thoughts
I was one of the trainers at this workshop (I've just added myself to the list retrospectively, as I wasn't sure until a day or so beforehand if I was going to be able to attend). I'm putting down some follow-up thoughts here:
- (1) One of the articles looked at during the workshop was wikipedia:Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland. If anyone who was at the workshop is interested in more examples of the editing involved there, I did some more tidying up of the list of Rivers Memorial Medal recipients at Rivers Memorial Medal (the type of editing involved, mainly the tidying of links and creating redirects, can be seen in this contributions listing. Further editing on that section of the article would involve finding references for the citations and adding those to the article. I'm also going to expand (and try and complete) the Huxley Memorial Medal section in that article.
- (2) If anyone has a particular interest in or access to archives related to scientific medals and awards (for any scientific institution, not just the RAI), and wants to edit on those topics, I'd be very happy to help out with that, as this is one of my editing interests (along with other aspects of the history of science). An example of what can be difficult to get hold of is freely licensed pictures of the medals, or of them being awarded.
If any of those attending the workshop need any help with any articles they may be writing or drafting, or get stuck with anything, I'm very happy to help out, or failing that, to suggest where to ask for help. Carcharoth (talk) 08:58, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
Feedback
We would like to gather some feedback from the day. Would anybody like to make some public comments here? Or to Daria @ WM UK (she is away until after Easter). LoopZilla (talk) 14:28, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
