Wikimedia UK partners with a variety of organisations throughout the country, most commonly with GLAM, Education, and community organisations.

We can offer support and advice to volunteer and staff teams engaging with the Wikimedia projects, including offering training where our strategic aims align.

A Wikimedian in Residence works with a host organisation, such as the National Library of Wales, to support them to work more openly.

The following blogs are examples of our partnerships work with heritage organisations, The British Library and The National Galleries of Scotland.

Residencies vary from institution to institution. A Wikimedian in Residence can work with staff, volunteers, students and the wider community to train in the Wikimedia projects, advocate for free sharing of knowledge, or help an organisation to share their collections openly.
