External events & Speaker Requests

Governmental and Non-profit organisations.

If you would like someone from Wikipedia to come and talk to your organisation or give a presentation about Wikimedia or Open Content and volunteer management at an event you are organising please contact us on 077 9087 6808. As a charitable organisation we would expect that our expenses will be covered by yourselves and, ideally, that a donation is made to our operations.

Commercial organisations.

We are happy to provide consultancy and advice on the benefits of developing in-house information management and content solutions, and to come and talk to your organisation or give a presentation about Wikimedia or the business benefits of moving to an Open Content model at an event you are organising. Whilst we recognise that there may be benefits to a long-term relationship with you, as a non-profit body which relies on member and public donations to carry out our work, it would be wrong to provide a free, gratis service to profit-making companies as that could be seen as a misuse of those donated funds. As such we make these services available at near-commercial rates through our sister organisation, Wiki Educational Resources Ltd. Again, please contact us on 077 9087 6808.
