Briefly describe the issue or problem that motivates this application. What needs are you meeting?

I am applying for refreshments, travel expenses and some project merch for a maximum of 15 participants for a wikithon at Leeds City Museum, as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the First Annual Transsexual & Tranvestite Conference, which was held in Leeds in 1974. The event hopes to raise awareness of how trans histories can be added to Wikipedia, as well as getting participants to make a few edits.

Describe project activities. What will you use the funding to do?

You will be supporting attendees with travel and refreshments so that they can come to a welcoming event at Leeds City Museum, as part of a wider programme of activities celebrating trans history in Leeds, in Yorkshire, and beyond.

Describe your plan for evaluating this project. How will you measure success? What types of things will you measure (e.g. content, participants)?

No. participants, and I'll send a short survey afterwards.

Identify key people involved in this project. How will or could the wider Wikimedian community be involved?

I'm hoping to get support from the recent train-the-trainers, have posted about the event in Wikiproject LGBT Studies, and have been put in touch with Owen Blacker. I'll also approach Leeds Wikimedians more generally.
