Project Title (If applicable)
tgirls on wiki
Proposed by
Aislinn Evans - The Feminist Library

Project description

Briefly describe the issue or problem that motivates this application. What needs are you meeting?

Trans women and trans women's achievements are an under-documented area in feminism and culture at large, and under attack at the moment. We want to fill out pages on trans women's history in the UK, and strengthen links between pages about it

Describe project activities. What will you use the funding to do?

We'll pay Jaye Hudson, a transfeminist researcher and film programmer, to identify the blind spots and places to fill in, and then lead two 4-hour edit-a-thons at the feminist library.

Describe your plan for evaluating this project. How will you measure success? What types of things will you measure (e.g. content, participants)?

We'll measure the success on two factors. first, the amount of content we add over the two sessions, and secondly, by the number of people who sign up to be new editors

Identify key people involved in this project. How will or could the wider Wikimedian community be involved?

Jaye Hudson: researcher. The Feminist Library: hosting and coordinating. We will need a volunteer wikimedian trainer for the two sessions.

If applicable, identify partnering organisations for this project (not essential)

The Feminist Library

Estimated cost

£500
