6.3 Direct Marketing

  • Charities MUST ensure that they have consent from an individual before sending promotional material electronically to non‐business addresses.

It is not necessary to offer an individual the opportunity to opt‐out of, or opt‐in to, receiving such information, provided he or she is clearly notified at the time the data is collected that he or she will receive such communications, and is given details of how and who to contact if he or she does not wish to receive such information.
