New WIR projects
  • 15k in the budget [and must be spent!], need to find options
  • ACTION: WSC: put a note on the mailing lists for suggestions
  • Fae suggested: put up an ideas page on wiki
  • Proposals from institutions might be public but responses from individuals might be problematic.
  • Openness might be an issue.
  • There is some background on GLAMwiki relating to this. See also http://etherpad.wikimedia.org/GLAMcampAmsterdamSun-DocumentationResidence
  • Unlikely to spend much this FY, but can get money committed.

ACTION: on Daria to create a page at 2012-13 Wikipedians in Residence' with a couple of paragraphss about our plans to use the budget and invitations for organisations to submit bids via a simple application from that would ask for contact details, timescale, any matched funding and details of what the WIR would do and achieve.

Group to critique this ASAP so that it can be distributed to Community and via "Culture 24".

Black history month
  • Equiano centre at UCL - 26 October (same time as a Royal Society event at the BL)
  • training, edit-a-thon
  • Leutha will pull on his network to encourage more attendees

ACTION: Daria to let the participants know about the WIR programme and bids ACTION: Leutha to let his contacts know about our event
