Office Correspondence Log/3 December 2011

There have been a few more items of correspondence that fall into the complaint category than usual this week, but none are unassailable.

  • One is a friendly-worded notice from the subject of an article correcting us on a few points. I will either pass this on to a volunteer, or through to OTRS.
  • One complained about the length of time that it is taking the WMF's donateatwikimedia.org address to answer emails. I have passed this feedback on to the WMF.
  • One complained that when he read that Brandon equates a website with advertising to a 'propaganda tool', he decided against donating.
  • There was a BLP complaint, but I have been unable to substantiate it. The article simply does not include the statement that the complainant says it includes - indeed, it has never, as far as I can tell, included the information. I suspect he may have got Wikipedia confused with Facebook or another similar service.

We have also located the one membership application that was pending from August: a letter of apology has been sent, and the Board will discuss the application at the next Board meeting.
