For once we have charity status

When we have charity status, we need to add gift aid options to the donate forms and ask those that have already donated if we could claim gift aid on their donations. It would also be worth investigating payroll giving via PAYE (what does this require?) Mike Peel 23:00, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

We have told the CC that would would like registration before the fundraiser, so hopefully we'll have it by then. We should probably write two versions, one with Gift Aid, one without. --Tango 23:10, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
As I understand it, CC takes 40 days on average to process an application once it's been received (which it hasn't yet, pending some declarations), so that's ~ the start of November. Add delays on top as we're a non-trivial application. It's possible that it will be before the fundraiser, but I suspect it's unlikely.
It should be easy to add gift aid onto the donation form, so long as it's constructed with gift aid donations in mind. Mike Peel 23:12, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Use of funds

Two comments - I wouldn't set us a limit (even just as a target) for our admin/program ratio, it would be better to just monitor it and decide if it is a problem after the fact. Also, our legal fees count as admin, although copyright reform stuff would be programs. We have no way to know what is reasonable at this point. Secondly, I would make the reserve a percentage of revenue rather than an absolute amount - the more we are used to spending, the more we'll need in reserve. --Tango 22:41, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
