It has been proposed to use polls in how this project proceeds. Any contributions to polls can be placed here.
Poll proposal 1: Two projects or One
The project page has two versions - one which is only about a partnership with 8 museums & cultural institutions along the lines of Wikipedia Loves Art and one which combines this with "Wikipedia Art".
Please give your opinions on whether these should be separate projects or combined:

I do not think we are ready for a Poll yet. The proposal to include Wikipedia Art is linked to incorporating the National Art Library - housed in the V&A in the whole project. There are also a number of other small specialist libraries linked to Museums, and often the archives so linked have excellent collections of specialist books. I am thinking here of the anthropology Library at the British Museum, or the excellent library and educational resource held at the Tower of London. While we are not in a position to engage with all of these in 2010, it would be useful to make a start. This could fill several purposes:
- Encouraging wikipedians to use these resources
- Encouraging people who use this resources to become wikipedia editors
- Add content to wikipedia
On point 2, it is sometimes quite surprising to discover how many knowledgeable people feel inhibited from editing pages, and if we could attract even a few people with specific knowledge areas, this could lead to a significant improvement of wikipedia articles. perhaps we can return to this poll later in the year.Harrypotter 05:50, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
