Talk:Macrogrants/WLM prize fund

For Britain Loves Wikipedia, we asked partner organisations to provide some of the prizes - see Britain Loves Wikipedia/Prizes. Can I suggest doing something similar for this competition, and using the macrogrant funding as backup for the prizes in case willing partner orgs can't be sourced? BLW was somewhat different from WLM in that it was in specific museums, though, so maybe this won't be possible. I'd also suggest having non-cash prizes, either in addition to cash or fully in place of it - e.g. give everyone that wins a prize a printed copy of their photograph at an appropriate size (large/medium/small) and/or format (canvas/framed/unframed), and/or a book related to UK monuments. - If anyone can persuade the listing organizations to come up with prizes, that would be great, but this request has been made only after attempts have been made to involve them, with no success so far. Of course, attempts can still continue, and if anyone is successful funds would then not be required. To that extent, this is already a 'backup' request.
btw, should comments and discussions go on the talk page rather than here?--MichaelMaggs (talk) 21:47, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
