Strategic Goal 1
Increase the quality and quantity of coverage of subjects that are currently underrepresented on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects
Progress
- 4900 Welsh portraits being prepared for upload to Commons and Wikidata
- 350,000 Welsh bibliographical records (The sum of all Welsh literature) have been passed to our Wikidata visiting Scholar to begin preparation for upload to Wikidata

- attended Internal Board meeting of The Dictionary of Welsh Biography. I'm pushing for inclusion of Wikipedia/wikidata links on new website
- attended and presented to 150 people at the Europeana Tech conference in Rotterdam on NLW's work with Wikidata

- The Wikidata Visiting Scholar Has created Wikidata for many Welsh newspapers and Journals using data provided by NLW. He will now begin to explore creating Wikidata for ALL Welsh books with associated printers, publishers and authors. You can see more here

Projects in development
- Dictionary of Welsh Biography - A request for funding is being considered by the library to contract a third party developer to create a bespoke interface/timeline to visualize and explore the Dictionary of Welsh Biography. The interface would be powered by Wikidata and images from Wiki Commons and would link to Dictionary of Welsh Biography and Wikipedia content. This would cement the libraries commitment to contributing to Wikimedia projects and making use of Wikimedia services and content to develop its own innovative online infrastructure.
- Welsh portrait Archive - around 5k images will be be shared on Commons and Wikidata with the help of key volunteers, and events will be held to encourage re-use of the content. The whole project will be run within the framework of the Europeana impact playbook in order to produce a case study assessing the impact of the various aspects of the project.
- The sum of All Welsh literature - This project will see the creation of Wikidata items for every piece of Welsh literature in our catalogues. (around 350,000)
