To support the use of the Wikimedia projects as important tools for education and learning in the UK
Progress
- secured meeting with Welsh Government education department to discuss funding for a project to target improvement of content relevant to the school syllabus, and perhaps package this as a Wikipedia for children
- The Wikidata Visiting Scholar continues his work on the Welsh literature data. You can see more here
- Meeting with Aaron - Wikimôn to plan events in schools as part of WiciPobl project, to discuss how Wikidata could be used to teach coding and to discuss potential future projects with the Welsh Wicipedia and education.

Projects in development
- Dictionary of Welsh Biography - A request for funding is being considered by the library/external funders to contract a third party developer to create a bespoke interface/timeline to visualize and explore the Dictionary of Welsh Biography. The interface would be powered by Wikidata and images from Wiki Commons and would link to Dictionary of Welsh Biography and Wikipedia content. This would cement the libraries commitment to contributing to Wikimedia projects and making use of Wikimedia services and content to develop its own innovative online infrastructure.
- The sum of All Welsh literature - This project will see the creation of Wikidata items for every piece of Welsh literature in our catalogues. (around 350,000)
