Increase the quality and quantity of coverage of subjects that are currently underrepresented on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects

Progress

  • Religion and education data being added to Wikidata for Dictionary of Welsh Biography entries
  • Secured release of 900 author biographies from Gwales on an Open license.
  • 25k Wikidata items for NLW books created to date.
  • Tranlate-a-thon event held for Aberystwyth University students
  • Pitched idea for volunteer project, tagging depicts locations in NLW images using Wikidata tools

  • Demonstrated new Welsh Biography timeline to the Advisory Board.
  • Invitations to speak at CILIP Wales AGM, Aberystwyth UNI, Welsh Translators conference and for University of Wales DIS students visit to NLW - during NOV - DEC.

  • Working with Menter Iaith Môn to plan workshop with teachers for Wici-Addysg (education) project
  • opened discussions wish CBAC about using their resources on an open license for the project
  • Prepared job description and posted advertisement (internal) for 9 month project officer post to support the education project.
