The Board will shortly be conducting interviews with people who've come forward to be co-opted Trustees. We're keen to ask questions that will show whether potential trustees "get" the Wikimedia community and the mission of our charity - if we're speaking to them then we are already fairly sure that they have useful skills and experience to offer.
Here are some questions, please add your own thoughts!
- Tell us about a time when you dealt with a serious disagreement about the direction of an organisation/project you were involved with - how did you handle it?
- What's your understanding of the values of the Wikimedia movement, and how do they relate to your own personal values?
- Tell us an example of a time you have worked with volunteers to achieve something (doesn't matter whether you were a volunteer, staff member, or trustee)
- Please can you tell us why you would be a good trustee for Wikimedia UK?
- How would you handle a situation where you or another board member has a conflict of interest between their role in Wikimedia UK and a role with another organisation?
- Please can you tell us about your experiences and knowledge of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia community?
- What roles would you expect volunteers to undertake with Wikimedia UK's activities?
- How would you hold the staff to account?
- What would be the most important strategic goal that you'd like to see Wikimedia UK achieve over the next few years?
