Literature is one of the best known fields of Galician culture. Since the emergence of the profane and religious lyric of the Middle Ages, when Galician language reached great diffusion due in part to the Way of Saint James, Galician-language literature suffered periods of ups and downs to reach the current situation. In the 21st century the Galician literary system is settled, and a good number of works of poetry, narrative and theater are translated into other languages, especially in the field of children's literature.
In the Galician Wikipedia we pay great attention to literature, from classic authors such of Rosalía de Castro, to contemporary works. We place special emphasis on the search of references, bibliography and control of authorities. We try to update the articles of the authors every time a new work is edited, and we are also awaiting the presentations of the books to have photographic documentation.
One of the focuses of attention is the Galician Literature Day, which every May 17 is dedicated to an outstanding author or authoress. We developed the Wikiproject Protagonist of Galician Literature Day (gl:Wikipedia:Wikiproxecto protagonista do Día das Letras Galegas), and many articles are translated to other languages. Besides, workshops are carried out in high schools so that students of Galician Language and Literature begin to edit in the Wikipedia through articles related to works and authors.
Llenyddiaeth yw un o’r meysydd mwyaf adnabyddus o fewn diwylliant Galicia. Ers ymddangosiad telynegion crefyddol ac anghysegredig yn yr Oesoedd Canol, pan ledaenodd iaith Galicia yn sylweddol, yn rhannol oherwydd llwybrau Pererinion Sant James, dioddefodd lenyddiaeth iaith Galicia gyfnodau o lanw a thrai cyn cyrraedd y sefyllfa y mae ynddi nawr. Yn yr 21 ganrif mae system ieithyddol Galicia wedi sefydlogi, ac mae nifer da o farddoniaeth, rhyddiaith a theatr wedi eu cyfieithu i ieithoedd eraill, yn arbennig felly ym maes llenyddiaeth plant.
Yn Wicipedia Galicia rydym yn rhoi cryn dipyn o sylw i lenyddiaeth, o awduron clasurol megis Rosalía de Castro, i weithiau cyfoes. Rydym yn rhoi pwyslais arbennig ar chwilio am gyfeirlyfrau, llyfryddiaethau a rheoli awdurdodau. Rydym yn ceisio diweddaru erthyglau’r awduron bob tro y bydd gwaith newydd yn cael ei olygu, ac rydym hefyd yn aros am i’r llyfrau gael eu cyflwyno er mwyn cael dogfennaeth ffotograffig.
Un o ffocysau sylw ydy Diwrnod Llenyddiaeth Galicia sydd, ar 17 Mai bob blwyddyn, yn cael ei neilltuo i awdur neu awdures ragorol. Rydym wedi datblygu Wikiproject Diwrnod Prif Gymeriad Llenyddiaeth (gl:Wikipedia:Wikiproxecto protagonista do Día das Letras Galegas), ac mae sawl erthygl wedi ei chyfieithu i ieithoedd eraill. Yn ogystal, cynhelir gweithdai mewn ysgolion uwchradd fel bod myfyrwyr Iaith a Llenyddiaeth Galicia yn dechrau golygu Wicipedia drwy erthyglau sy’n berthnasol i weithiau ac awduron.

Adrián Estévez (Pontevedra, 1983) has studied Galician Philology at the University of Santiago de Compostela and Pedagogy (Primary Education) at the University of Vigo. He has been editing in Wikipedia since August 2007, and is a bureaucrat of the Galician language version. He likes to edit about the etymology of place names (including Celtic toponomy in Galicia!) and contemporary narrative (especially crime fiction). He gave lectures about Wikipedia as educational tool in several schools, high schools and colleges. He also collaborates in Commons loading photos of people and architectural heritage, and in Wikidata completing information about books.
Mae Adrián Estévez (Pontevedra, 1983) wedi astudio Philoleg Galiseg ym Mhrifysgol Santiago de Compostela ac Addysgeg (Addysg Gynradd) ym Mhrifysgol Vigo.
Bu'n golygu Wikipedia ers Awst 2007, ac mae'n fiwrocrat o'r iaith Galiseg. Mae'n hoffi golygu am etymoleg enwau lleoedd (gan gynnwys atponomi Celtaidd yn Galicia!) A naratif gyfoes (yn enwedig ffuglen trosedd). Rhoddodd ddarlithoedd am Wikipedia fel adnodd addysgol mewn sawl ysgol, ysgol uwchradd a cholegau.
