I attended the Cabinet Forum from 26-28 October:
- The workload was significantly more than I had expected - both for Cabinet and for the Workplace Lunches - and I'd like to discuss how we can manage this in the future. Discuss
- I had some useful insights and tips into how the Workplace Learning Lunches seminars should be worded including:
- Links to the "freemium" concept - free basic content, paid-for premium content
- Focus on the "result" being content donation, with the seminar itself just an interim step
- I met some useful contacts including:
- The CEO of a multinational company in Britain who use MediaWiki extensively in their company - we've been invited to visit to see it in action
- Spencer Hyman, founder of lastfm.com who is keen to:
- Join up, and encourage his contacts who support Wikipedia to do the same
- Put us in touch with museums for Britain Loves Wikipedia
- Put us in touch with media businesses for Workplace Learning Lunches
- The Director of the Open Rights Group, who I spoke to about encouraging cross-membership and coming to OKCON
- There's an opportunity for us to influence the EU debate on copyright terms as the Spanish Presidency is organising a major conference in March and we may be able to get involved
The company's Annual Return to Companies House is due on 5th November.
I had a letter from an ill person asking for financial support.
