Talk:Newsletter/April2009
Don't know if it's too late, but could we have two more sections:
- HMRC decision
We regret to announce that the UK Tax Authorities have rejected our application to be recognised as a charity for tax purposes, arguing that the production of an encyclopedia does not consist of "promoting education". The Board continue to believe that our purposes are charitable and are looking into ways of appealing this decision.
This news has been covered in the Register and a draft news story was created in wikinews.
- Wikipedia Loves Art
The chapter supported the "Wikipedia Loves Art" photography contest in February and since then the participating museums have been hard at work checking each photograph for compliance with the copyright rules and awarding bonus points for particularly good images. They have now started to announce winners and we hope to be able to [announce the winners from the Victoria & Albert museum shortly.

- I have already published the April edition - these can quite easily go into the May newsletter! Bare in mind that the Wikinews story was deleted... --Skenmy 17:00, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- Seems a bit odd to distribute a newsletter that forgets to mention the most important bit of news that's happened, but I guess that's my fault for not writing it! Thanks for getting it out on time by the way. AndrewRT 23:24, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
