Started Mon 7.4.14 using Chrome v 33.0.1750.154 running on Windows
Log in sent didn’t work but resolved via automatic email
Lots of things in left hand menu don’t work eg site blogs, site badges etc – if not going to be used I would remove them
Updated my profile.
Overview topic – took me a while to realise I had to “enrol myself” – the instruction to self enrol was after I had enrolled myself.
Page 792 Quick Start – would it be worth saying hyperlinks are in a different colour for absolute novices? The flow chart diagram didn’t appear centered (vertically or horizontally) on my screen so lots of white space within the box
Page 506 – video box – OK – I would have the URL at the end as a caption or ending screen Some duplication to previous page – but may be needed because of navigation options. The sentence in brackets “magnifying glass on the right, type in from the left” doesn’t make sense to me as you can’t see it on the graphic next to it.
Wikipedia Basics –
Wikipedia Basics (A) main unit 1 Image of Jimmy Wales (Jimmy_Wales_01635.jpg) very slow to download – all images seem to be high res & take a while to download (broadband in rural Somerset is not very fast & contention ratios not good (just within my house & at the exchange) Quizes are OK – but no feedback on whether I got the answers right (or deliberately put in wrong answers) – are the scores or answers tracked against the individual user login? If so might be useful to tell them this up front.
Wikipedia Basics (B) main unit 1 The 4 million figure is appearing often – this is going to be out of date soon!
Wikipedia Basics (B) FAQ resources I clicked on main unit 1 at the bottom of this page & it took me back to Wikipedia Basics (B) main unit 1 – might need to think a bit more about navigation options
Wikipedia Basics (C) main unit 2 Phrases like “deletion decisions” may need to be explained if someone really is a newbie
Wikimedia Basics (X) lesson I thought X meant advanced – so how can it be “basic”?
Troubleshooting (A) lesson On the quiz “WP:HD” haven’t told them WP stands for Wikipedia – so this is a non article source – likely to end up at the dab page “HD” & go to Häagen-Dazs
On the quiz “What counts as bad content on Wikipedia?” I wanted to click more than one radio button – which should be an option on moodle quizzes.
Happy to look at more later.Rodw (talk) 21:03, 7 April 2014 (BST)

I have only had a quick look at the VLE, so these are only my initial thoughts.
- I didn't identify any errors or incorrect links.
- The course material is well written and seems to make sense, although some of the quiz questions are asked before the content is introduced, so essentially it's a guess.
- No answers are given to the quiz questions, only a score. I think people will want to know what the answers are to help them learn from their errors.
- I didn't find the site navigation to be especially intuitive. There seem to be too many routes to take, and I found myself getting lost.
- “You are not allowed to retake this lesson.” Why not? Re-reading text can be useful and can aid learning.
Let me know if you need more detail. Cheers, Bazonka (talk) 20:07, 16 April 2014 (BST)
