What can't be shared on-wiki?

Hi all. As a photographer who has taken photographs in museums and has uploaded them to Commons, I'm rather unclear about what this event would teach me, and what I could learn by attending this event as opposed to reading a page on-wiki (the given example, handling reflections from glass, could easily be explained on-wiki by saying something along the lines of "block out reflections by surrounding your camera lens with a dark material"). I'm also puzzled about why an event that is about taking photographs in a museum isn't taking place in a museum so that practical examples can be demonstrated. Please could you elaborate on these points? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 21:02, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

Why not onwiki? Different learning styles. As for the place and time thats largely being driven by the WLM awards ceremony and community Xmas party.Geni (talk) 13:47, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
