With regards to the email infrastructure: on the old server the setup was Qmail/Courier with the authentication handled via Plesk (with a custom plugin). Lots of issues - getting the email accounts out revealed passwords are in plaintext :S Also, some compatibility issues emerged with the latest Qmail/Courier. After assessing the requirements I've swapped to Postfix/Dovecot as the software for the new server - this is easier to configure, is more regularly updated and better documented. The migration isn't affected because all mail is stored in a common format, so Qmail/Postfix and Courier/Dovecot are infinitely swappable. --ErrantX (talk) 12:54, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
