As suggested at m:Meetup/Monmouth/1, I'd be interested to sit in on any public sessions of the Board, since I'll be in Monmouth for the meetup on Saturday 21. Unfortunately, I can't find a good place to sign up, so I'm leaving a note here. By the way, have you seen the edit notice for this page? It must be excruciating for anybody with a hangover. Cheers, --RexxS (talk) 00:59, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Great. :-) Stating interest here was probably the best approach to take. You're more than welcome to attend any part of the agenda you are interested in, with the exception of 'in-camera' sessions that may be trustees+staff-only or trustees-only. The default is that our sessions are public unless stated otherwise.
The edit notice is indeed very ugly. If anyone can figure out where it's being set, then please make it look better!

You mean the big red notice when you create a page? That's MediaWiki:Newarticletext. Harry Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:55, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Harry. I've rewritten the notice to make it more hangover-friendly. ;-) Mike Peel (talk) 18:28, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
I made that notice years ago and wanted it to be noticeable (because I was bored of deleting encyclopaedia articles that were being created here by mistake). I don't think there is much point having a notice like your new one because no-one will actually notice it. --Tango (talk) 17:52, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
From what I've seen, there hasn't been much difference in the rate of encyclopaedia articles created here between the old and new versions of the notice (if anything, it's actually gone down over the last month). I agree that the new text is a lot less noticeable, though - perhaps there's a middle ground between the text not being noticeable and it causing post-hangover migraines? ;-) Thanks. People with hangovers should suffer - how else will they learn?! I agree things haven't been too bad since you changed it - perhaps we should leave it for another month or two and decide whether it needs to be more noticeable once we have more data. --Tango (talk) 23:02, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

Videos

I'm delighted to see videos up on bambuser, though I can see a couple (at least on my machine) don't seem more than a minute or two long for some reason, is this a glitch or were these recordings damaged? -- (talk) 06:24, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

It's definitely good that the videos are available. Could they be copied over to Commons? (they can apparently only be downloaded by the person that uploaded them) Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 07:23, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
I have HD recordings available of most of the board meeting, done on the stable tripod camera. Once I've converted them, I'll upload them. Richard Symonds (talk) 12:54, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
